Caroline Albers is a third-year apparel design student at the University of Minnesota. While she is a big-picture thinker, Caroline is attuned to the nuances of fashion's significance and its changes from season to season.
Caroline has spent time as an undergraduate researcher helping to design and pattern culturally appropriate activewear for young East African girls and their mothers. Other projects have focused on trend analysis and clothing design for underserved markets such as new mothers and plus-size junior girls. She also serves as part of the leadership team for the Sustainability in Fashion student group.
Caroline creates collages that combine collected jewelry, recycled magazines, and personal writing. These mini-works address emotions, relationships, and how one can be a forward-moving person. Caroline makes wearable connections between these collages and the garments she designs.
